9001:2000 quality system model
Based on the principle "one picture is worth a thousand words", this quality system model documents and describes a complete quality management system of a manufacturing company, who's business activities are the design, manufacturing (with assembly), marketing, sales, distribution and servicing (after sale) of their own product line as well as the manufacture of custom made parts/products. The quality system model, which can easily be followed and modified to fit a company's specific needs, can be used by any type of manufacturing company as an example or guidance for preparing the required documentation, for the implementation of necessary procedures, and for establishing evidence of compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. The manual references mandatory documented procedures, outlines the company's quality policy, and defines responsibilities, activities and the interaction of processes that are necessary to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2000. In addition to the mandatory documented procedures and to provide further assistance with the implementation process, 49 detailed operating procedures and work instructions are referenced and accessible, describing quality related activities of the departments of Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and Warehouse. These procedures can be used as examples of how to create evidence of compliance with requirements, and it is up to the discretion of the organization to document and implement these procedures, or just to use them as examples and guidance for the implementation of activities and processes which are necessary to meet the requirements of the standard. Since the model provides real examples, it eliminates guess work, setbacks and uncountable moments of frustration for the ISO 9000-Novice in charge of implementing ISO 9001 in an organization. |
